I don't paint what I see. I paint what I feel—and sometimes those feelings live in contradictions.

I am from Kenya. I know that beauty and heartbreak can occupy the same moment. My paintings live in that tension—where vibrant life coexists with profound feeling, where color sings even when the subject carries weight.
I paint the life I know. The textures of fabric, the glow of skin in firelight, the simple abundance of community. There's a joy here that lives in the sharing, in the warmth of being together, in the meals made with intention.

There's form mixed with freedom in my work. Structure and flow. The careful lines, the deliberate strokes—they exist alongside the expressive gestures and the bold marks. That's honest. That's human. That's me.

The shoe speaks to indignity, to struggle, to the things that press down on us. But the hands are not breaking. I paint what it means to bear weight and still stand. This is about resilience that doesn't look gentle. This is about the dignity in endurance. The way we carry our stories, our pain, our refusal to break.

I paint the stories that shaped us. The warriors, the traditions, the knowledge passed down through generations. When I paint history, I'm not painting the past as something finished—I'm painting it as something alive, still speaking.

I paint the faces I know. The joy that lives in a smile, the strength in the eyes, the beauty that exists in everyday moments, the light they carry. These are the stories worth telling.

When I paint animals, I paint them as teachers—creatures of instinct and power, beauty and contradiction.
The lion doesn't apologize for taking up space, for being bold, for existing fully. There's a lesson there.
